Will Fox has been an active participant in the reinsurance business since the 1960’s. His accomplishments include the Presidency of Balis & Co., Inc., a subsidiary of Guy Carpenter & Co., and the leader in providing reinsurance solutions for small to mid-sized insurers in the United States.
Mr. Fox’s experience of over 33 years at Balis has provided him with a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the insurance and reinsurance business. This has included executive and intimate operational knowledge of insurance companies, managing general agencies, managing general underwriting facilities and reinsurers.
In addition to running Balis, Mr. Fox also served as the President of Providence Washington Insurance Company for three years and, for nine years, as the CEO of Excess Reinsurance Company.
Mr. Fox’s expertise is broad and diverse and encompasses many lines of insurance and reinsurance including; Property Catastrophe, Professional Liability Errors and Omissions as well as Directors’ and Officers’ Liability, Automobile Insurance; Workers’ Compensation, Agricultural Insurance, General Liability, Aviation Insurance, Finite and Alternative Risk Reinsurance, and Environmental Liability - including both Asbestos and Pollution Liability.
In addition, Mr. Fox is well versed in the workings of commutations, captives, risk retention groups, reinsurance contract wordings, facultative reinsurance, managing general agencies and “fronting”, personal lines, licensing and regulatory issues and retrospective reinsurance rating.
Currently, Will Fox is an independent consultant conducting an arbitration and expert witness practice.
Mr. Fox is an ARIAS-U.S. certified arbitrator and a liscensed P&C broker in Pennsylvania.
