Molly Sanders has been the Managing Principal of Leidy & Sanders, LLC, since July 2005. Ms. Sanders has over 28 years of experience as an Underwriting Account Executive within the insurance and reinsurance industry.
Since forming Leidy & Sanders, LLC in mid-2005, Ms. Sanders has completed a broad range of projects for clients in the insurance, reinsurance, and the legal arena. Engagements have involved arbitrations, expert witness work, pre-acquisition due diligence, underwriting reviews, coverage analyses, systems development, and training.
Ms. Sanders began her insurance career as a casualty facultative underwriter at General Re, and held a variety of facultative and treaty underwriting positions in her seven year tenure.
In 1985, Ms. Sanders participated in the formation of Re Capital, a publicly-traded property/casualty reinsurance company. At Re Capital, Ms. Sanders was a Senior Vice President and a member of its board of directors. She served on a three-person Reinsurance Operations Committee responsible for management of the company’s Underwriting and Claims functions.
After nine years at Re Capital, Ms. Sanders joined Trenwick in 1994 as a Senior Vice President with responsibility for underwriting and marketing of all casualty lines of treaty reinsurance.
In 2002, she joined Folksamerica Re, part of the White Mountain group, as Senior Vice President and Manager of its casualty facultative unit. At Folksamerica, she served in a variety of underwriting and management capacities, including Manager of its Greenwich, CT, and Chicago branch offices.
Ms. Sanders graduated with a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, and completed the summer Executive Program at Dartmouth’s Amos Tuck School of Business. She is a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS). In addition, she holds a Real Estate Salesperson license from the state of Connecticut, and has been a resident of Stamford, CT, since 1981.
Ms. Sanders is an ARIAS-U.S. certified Arbitrator.
